I studied Cybernetics at the Faculty of Applied Sciences, University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. My professional career began at Cleverlance in 2004, where I first encountered terms like multi-layer architecture and SOA. They were new at the time. Now they are standard. The years I spent at Cleverlance in different positions all had one thing in common: a close relationship with customers. I am pleased that close cooperation with our customers endures today as I manage CTS TRADE IT, along with a continued commitment to understand their needs. It is necessary to engage a single team and to ensure both the customer and the vendor are all in the same boat for an IT project to deliver the expected results.

During my finance and accounting studies, I was already engaged in creating assignments to create a system to manage securities. This assignment had to be turned over to the developers so that it all worked as expected. My desire to understand how everything worked in the system opened me up to the world of programming, and especially how data is stored in a database and where the results of all system activities end. I enjoy connecting these worlds, from user needs to data storage in the system and back. Understanding users and developers simultaneously accelerates the achievement of the ultimate objective and designing an elegant solution is an activity that never gets old.

I’ve now been engaged with investment banking systems for more than 20 years, and at CTS TRADE IT I am involved in management and focused on delivery of the system and especially its analysis and design.

I’ve been involved in the development of software for investment banking since 1999, when I began working for a company during my studies at Czech Technical University in Prague and I first encountered a whole host of colleagues who I still work with to this day, of course with miscellaneous breaks. I gradually worked for a number of companies in this field, both Czech and foreign, and that gave me an overview of how the investment business works and how to develop software for it.

Throughout my professional career, I’ve encountered the full range of technologies and development approaches. In my opinion, the right development processes are those that have proven themselves over time, and today are supported by solid technologies facilitating simply implementation. I believe that software development is much more enjoyable than ever before.

I work as the Technical Director at CTS. It’s a tremendous challenge for me. The time is now coming for changes in both technology and the way product is delivered. Our goal is to maintain a competitive advantage on the IT market and to be the right choice for current and future clients.

I have been fascinated since childhood by mathematics, the constant solving of logical tasks, finding more and more variations to achieve the goal, the butterflies in my stomach before each competition, the desire to overcome oneself and discover new areas.

The way that I found analysis was the natural outcome of all those things that fulfil me on a daily basis.

I am happy that I can do what I enjoy at work :) That no day is stereotyped. That I have great people beside me I can count on. That I learn something new every day. That I have the opportunity to meet our customers, the end users of our system, and I can help them to solve everyday activities.

I focus primarily on the area of analysis, team leading and spreading a positive approach to problem solving :)

I started working as a programmer at TTC Tesla Telecommunications during my studies at the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics of the University of Economics in Prague.

I created an automated testing module to check the control software used in created telecommunications devices during the preparations for my thesis. It was my first experience with testing and it really engulfed me.

I joined the QA team at Cleverlance in 2004, and after a few projects where I got to know all the levels and types of testing, I joined a team developing software for investment banking. This project was eventually spun off to form CTS TRADE IT, in which I became responsible for managing the quality assurance and support team. My focus inside the company is on creating an environment in which healthy and peaceful coexistence among co-workers leads to the development of software with quality that is sustainable over the long-term.

As a student at the Software Engineering Department at Czech Technical University in Prague, I first joined a small company providing software solutions for what at the time was the completely new field of investment banking back in 2001. I got to know some of my current colleagues then. Since that time, I've remained faithful to investment banking.

I gradually accrued business knowledge as I worked through my first programming positions. Thanks to this knowledge, I was able to smoothly transition into analysis and business architecture. And it is the combination of technical knowledge (my programming self is still a major part of me) and business knowledge that I can now bring to bear in designing solutions for our customers. And what am I responsible for at CTS TRADE IT? – business architecture: I primarily ensure that proposed solutions are in line with our product portfolio and are sustainable over the long-term.
